APRIL 24, ZVORNIK /SRNA/ – Miljan Ćosić, a member of the Srpski Soko Taekwondo Club from Zvornik, has become European champion after winning first place at the championship in Crete in the veterans' sparring category over 92 kilograms.
Ćosić defeated a competitor from Spain in the semifinals and overcame a Ukrainian opponent in the final bout, the Srpski Soko Taekwondo Club told SRNA today.
He also won third place in poomsae, fifth day category, in the veterans' competition aged 35 to 44.
In addition to Ćosić, competitors from Republika Srpska, competing for the BiH national team, achieved excellent results.
Nikolaj Kovačević from Stanari won second place in cadet sparring, while Vuk Jeremić in the junior category and Uroš Ilić in the cadet category both took third place in sparring.
The European Taekwondo Championship in Crete began on March 19 and will run until April 25.
