DOHA, FEBRUARY 14 /SRNA/ – Serbian tennis player Aleksandra Krunić and Kazakhstan’s Anna Danilina won the WTA tournament in Doha in the doubles competition.
Krunić and Danilina defeated Jelena Ostapenko and Hsieh Su-wei 2–1 in the final, by sets 0–6, 7–6 /7–3/, 10–8, after one hour and 37 minutes of play.
Ostapenko and Hsieh dominated the first set without losing a game and then took a 5–2 lead in the second set.
The Serbian-Kazakh duo mounted a comeback to win the second set in a tiebreak before prevailing in the deciding match tiebreak, played to 10 points.
With their victory in Doha, Krunić and Danilina earned $195,000 in prize money, while Ostapenko and Hsieh received $110,010.
