LAUSANNE, AUGUST 30 /SRNA/ – Serbian judoka Nemanja Majdov, who is originally from Istočno Sarajevo, has won a bronze medal at the Lausanne Grand Slam in the under-90kg category.
Majdov thanked everyone in Serbia, Republika Srpska and across the Balkans for their support, saying that he was dedicating the medal to his sons.
"Glory to God, another Grand Slam medal. Thank you to all Serbs around the world who support me," Majdov said.
Majdov has now won 11 Grand Slam medals in his career - two gold, three silver and six bronze.
In the bronze-medal bout, Majdov defeated Czech judoka Adam Kopecky.
Earlier, he defeated Germany's Eduard Trippel and Kazakhstan's Aidar Arapov, before losing to Russia's Yegor Andoni in the quarter-finals.
In the repechage, Majdov defeated Brazil's Rafael Macedo before going on to beat Kopecky in the bronze-medal bout.
