ISTOČNO SARAJEVO, OCTOBER 8 /SRNA/ – Lazar Ždrale, a member of the Serbia's national judo team, originally from Istočno Sarajevo, won a bronze medal at the World Junior Championships held in Lima.
Stefan Majdov, coach of the Randori Judo Club from Istočno Sarajevo, told SRNA that Ždrale earned the medal in the under-100kg category, defeating Anton Fedin from Russia.
Earlier in the competition, he defeated Osama Qursayn from Saudi Arabia, Jakob Vares from Estonia, who is the current European vice-champion, and Nodari Alapishvili from Georgia.
In the semifinals, he was defeated by Shokei Hirano from Japan.
Ždrale began his career at the Randori Judo Club in Istočno Sarajevo.
