BELGRADE, MAY 20 /SRNA/ - Former Serbian national team player Ivan Miljković has been inducted into the Volleyball Hall of Fame in Holyoke, the Serbian Volleyball Federation announced.
In addition to Miljković, other inductees include volleyball players Rosa García Rivas from Peru, Francesca Piccinini from Italy, and Dimitar Karov from Bulgaria.
The laureates will be officially announced at a ceremony on October 18.
Vladimir Grbić was the first member of the Volleyball Hall of Fame from Serbia, followed by his brother Nikola Grbić.
Miljković won 16 medals with the national team at major competitions.
He played 41 matches at four World Championships. He was named the Best Player and Best Scorer of the 2001 World Champions Cup in Tokyo.
Miljković played 120 matches in the World League over ten years and is the only volleyball player in the history of this competition to be named Best Player four times.
He was named Best Server of the World League in 2005, and Best Scorer in 2008 and 2009.
He played 45 matches for the national team in seven European Championships and was named Best Player in 2001 and 2011.
He was the Best Scorer of the European Championship in 2001 and 2007, and Best Server in 2005.
