JAHORINA, MARCH 4 /SRNA/ – The Minister of Family, Youth and Sport of Republika Srpska Irena Ignjatović has met today with Olympian Strahinja Erić and announced that the Ministry will support the construction of a biathlon track at Dvorišta on Jahorina.
Ignjatović congratulated Erić, as well as Marko Šljivić and Teodora Delipara, who competed at the Olympic Games in Italy this year.
"Their placement and participation there is a great success," Ignjatović said.
Erić expressed satisfaction with the meeting, stating that they discussed both problems and solutions.
"The track at Dvorišta is very important to us, because that is where we took our first biathlon steps," Erić told the press.
Erić expressed confidence that, with the Ministry’s support, the Olympic spirit will be maintained.
The Vice President of the Romanija Ski Club Tomislav Lopatić said that no work has been done on the tracks at Dvorišta for a long time and that the Ministry’s assistance will be valuable for the advancement of the sport.
"The track plan has been completed, and we have obtained all the necessary licenses. An asphalt track would be very significant, which we discussed today. Our children are still training on public roads because we do not have adequate tracks," Lopatić said.
He added that better training conditions will result in better sporting achievements.
