GREAT SUCCESS FOR JIU-JITSU CLUB “JAHORINA” FROM PALE – TARA SOKOVIĆ EUROPEAN RUNNER-UP

PALE, MARCH 19 /SRNA/ - A member of the Jiu-Jitsu Club “Jahorina” from Pale, Tara Soković, who is competing for the team of Republika Srpska at the European Youth Championship in Greece, has become the European runner-up.

Soković won the silver medal in the under-16 category up to 48 kilograms, while Dušan Kusmuk secured a bronze medal in men’s competition in the under-16 category up to 44 kilograms, the Jiu-Jitsu Club “Jahorina” announced.

Soković recorded convincing victories on her way to the final against competitors from Poland and Greece, as well as Italy in the semifinals, before being defeated by a Polish competitor in the bout for gold.

Kusmuk, for whom this is his first year in the cadet category, entered the competition as an experienced fighter, a winner of various European and World Cups.

After defeating a German opponent, he advanced to the semifinals, where he was defeated by an Italian competitor, and then secured third place by overcoming a Greek opponent.

The club also noted that Teodora Simanić had a notable performance, finishing in fifth place, while Katarina Šupić concluded the competition in ninth place.
