GOLD MEDALS IN CANOEING FOR URANKAR AND NOVOSADOVA

BANJA LUKA, MAY 23 /SRNA/ - Slovenian athlete Anže Urankar won the gold medal in the K1 /kayak/ senior category at the Wildwater Canoeing World Championships in Banja Luka, the “Vrbas M:tel” Canoe-Kayak Club in Banja Luka announced.


Silver went to Vojtěch Matejíček of the Czech Republic, and the bronze medal was won by Maxence Barouh of France.

In the women’s K1 category, Kristýna Novosadová of the Czech Republic was the fastest, followed by Luisa Putkamer of Germany and Cecilia Panato of Italy.

In the men’s C1 canoeing event, Matej Vanek of the Czech Republic became world champion. The world vice-champion is Jaromír Ivanecki of Slovakia. The bronze medal went to Charles Férion, who finished 0.32 seconds ahead of Pavle Zdravković of the Serbian canoe-kayak national team.

In the women's C1 event, Laura Fontaine from France won the gold medal, Cecilia Panato secured silver, and Marie Nemcová from the Czech Republic claimed bronze.

In the C2 /canoe double/ event, Korentin Combe and Clément Monjanel of France became world champions. The silver medal went to Nicolas Sator and Théo Vienne, also of France, and bronze was won by Manuel and Tanguy Rosen.

In the women’s C2 event, the fastest were Cecilia Panato /her fourth gold medal/ and Alice Panato of Italy. Silver was claimed by Clara and Elsa Gober of France, and the bronze medal went to Pavla Jílkova and Magdalena Malá of the Czech Republic.
