ĐOKOVIĆ REACHES WIMBLEDON SEMIFINALS

LONDON, JULY 8 /SRNA/ - The best Serbian tennis player, Novak Đoković, advanced to the Wimbledon semifinals after more than five hours of play, defeating Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime in the quarterfinals.

Đoković beat the Canadian 7-6 /12-10/, 3-6, 6-3, 6-7 /4-7/, 7-6 /10-4/ after five hours and 15 minutes of play.

Đoković, a seven-time Wimbledon champion, will face defending champion Jannik Sinner in the semifinals on Friday.

After the victory, Đoković said he had managed to keep his nerves under control and added that these are the moments that keep him playing tennis.

"I won this with my racket and a big heart. I managed to keep my nerves under control. There was a lot of tension, and either player could have won; it was completely even until the very end. These are the moments that keep me playing tennis," Đoković said.

He said that this had been one of the best matches he had ever played at Wimbledon.

"I would have preferred this to be the final, so I wouldn't have to worry about how my body will feel tomorrow," Đoković added.
