PALE, MARCH 10 /SRNA/ - Teodora Delipara, a member of the Ski Club Sarajevo– Istočno Sarajevo from Pale, says she is proud that at the age of 19 she took part in the Winter Olympic Games, and although she was unable to finish the race due to nervousness, she says she learned an important lesson from it, that psychological preparation is also crucial in sport.

"Although the impressions have not yet fully settled, competing at the Olympics is an enormous experience for me. I am glad I experienced the Olympic spirit and was among great competitors. A lot can be learned from the best," Delipara told SRNA.

She pointed out that she is proud that she managed to achieve the qualification standard for the Winter Olympic Games at all, because doing so requires years of work, training, and sacrifice.

"But I still regret that I didn't finish the race, because I believe I could have achieved a good result. The Olympic experience also brought me an important lesson for the continuation of my career. I realized how important it is to work on psychological preparation as well. Seriousness must always be present, but sometimes it is also necessary to have a degree of relaxation so that everything goes more easily," said Teodora Delipara.

Delipara pointed out that the organization of the competition was at a very high level and that her stay at the Winter Olympic Games remains a pleasant memory, even though there was a lot of excitement and nervousness on the course.

Speaking about the reasons why she did not manage to finish the race, Delipara admitted that nervousness and the pressure she put on herself played the decisive role.

"I expected a good result because we had been training intensively. But the mind is strange, I simply froze on the course," said Delipara.

After the Olympics, Delipara returned to Pale, where domestic competitions await her, and at the end of the season, preparations for the next one will follow.

"Now I still have several domestic races ahead of me. The season is slowly coming to an end, and then summer preparations will begin. I will continue training because international competitions also await us next year," said Delipara.

To young people considering sports, Delipara sent a message to be persistent and not to give up.

"It is important that they make an effort and do not give up. Work and effort always pay off in the end. Even when there are no major results, sport is important for a person, for health and discipline," emphasized Delipara.

Besides Delipara, Strahinja Erić and alpine skier Marko Šljivić also competed at the 2026 Winter Olympics, which were held from 6 to 22 February in Milan and Cortina d`Ampezzo. They were accompanied by coaches Dragan Jeftović, Željko Šljivić, and Mladen Plakalović.
