ATHENS, OCTOBER 15 /SRNA/ – Banja Luka football club Borac was defeated 2–1 by Panathinaikos in Athens this evening in the opening round of the UEFA Conference League.

The Greeks were awarded as many as two penalties in the opening 10 minutes of the match, both following VAR reviews.

The first came in the third minute, when Jurkas made an excellent save from Taborda’s shot. However, a few minutes later, Dessers converted the penalty to give the Athens side a 1–0 lead.

In the 70th minute, Kangwa scored Panathinaikos’ second goal, but around 10 minutes later, Miloš Jojić reduced the Greek side’s lead with a shot from 18 metres to make the final score 2–1.

Clashes between supporters broke out on the streets of Athens last night, and 11 fans of the Banja Luka club were taken into custody.

Borac will play their next match in Banja Luka on October 22, when Finnish club KuPS plays in the City Stadium.
