BANJA LUKA, NOVEMBER 26 /SRNA/ – Slobodan Župljanin, President of the Organization of Senior Officers of the Republika Srpska Army /RSA/, said that the parade in Srebrenica featuring wartime flags of the so-called Army of BiH represents yet another provocation from the Federation of BiH aimed at further destabilizing the situation and relations in the country.

"The event, which Bosniak representatives of local and entity authorities organized unlawfully yesterday in Srebrenica, has not achieved - and will not achieve - any goal other than spreading animosity and mistrust among the residents of the municipality," Župljanin told SRNA.

He noted that the holiday they claimed to be marking does not exist and has no basis in any legal act of either BiH or Republika Srpska, adding that the particular audacity of Bosniak politics lies in the misuse of children for political purposes.

"Girls draped in the wartime flags of the so-called Army of BiH pose no real threat to any Serb, but the ideology they are being prepared for is destructive for everyone in BiH and in the end, it will cause the greatest harm to the Bosniaks themselves," Župljanin points out.

He stressed that in civilized countries, children must never be used for political purposes, raising the serious question of what kind of country BiH is.

"Such actions coming from the FBiH contribute daily to the final disintegration of BiH. It is evident that they are in a state of paranoia and deep frustration amid the West's new approach to resolving issues in BiH and the country's possible future development. They have become accustomed to having others solve their problems, and now they find themselves in a state of numbness," Župljanin assessed.

Yesterday, Bosniaks from Srebrenica, joined by fellow nationals from the municipal authorities and local institutions, marched through the center of Srebrenica. Alongside BiH flags, wartime flags of the so-called Army of BiH were also displayed.

Some girls in the parade were provocatively draped in the wartime flags of the so-called Army of BiH, under which crimes against Serbs were committed during the last war.

The former holiday of ZAVNOBiH Day, November 25, is marked as the so-called Statehood Day in the Bosniak-majority part of the FBiH, while Croats do not observe it as a holiday.

At the state level, BiH has no law regulating public holidays, so the holiday laws of Republika Srpska and the Federation of BiH apply within their respective entities.

Republika Srpska observes January 9 as Republic Day and November 21 as the Day of the Signing of the General Framework Agreement for Peace in BiH.
