BANJA LUKA, JUNE 15 /SRNA/ - A top medical team at the University Clinical Centre /UCC/ of Republika Srpska saved the life of a woman who was accidentally shot in the chest, just a centimeter from the heart, thanks to an exceptionally fast and expert intervention. She is already feeling better today, the UCC announced.

The statement notes the surgery was performed blindly, without an X-ray, due to the urgency of the situation and the lack of time.

"The doctors opened the chest, located and removed the bullet. During the procedure, two liters of blood were evacuated. Such procedures are extremely rare and demand top-level knowledge, experience, and decisiveness - all of which our medical team possesses," the statement emphasizes.

The UCC highlighted that this is yet another example of the expertise and dedication of the doctors and medical staff at this institution. Their readiness to make the right decisions in the most critical moments saves lives, and the institution expressed heartfelt gratitude and deep respect to each of them.

The statement also includes an appeal for responsibility and caution to help prevent such tragic accidents in the future.
