WANG: BRČKO-BIJELJINA HIGHWAY SECTION - NEW BOOST TO COOPERATION

BIJELJINA, JUNE 12 /SRNA/ - The construction of the Brčko-Bijeljina highway section is of great importance for Republika Srpska and will not only be a transport corridor but also an important link of friendship that boosts cooperation and joint development, Wang Hongming, Deputy Director General of China Overseas Engineering Group, the company in charge of the works, said today in Bijeljina.

At the ceremony in Velika Obarska near Bijeljina marking the start of construction of the highway section, Wang said he was grateful to the Government of Republika Srpska and to all those who supported the implementation of the project.

"As project contractors, we have both the honor and the responsibility that this job carries," Wang said.

He stressed that all regulations and safety principles would be respected during the project's implementation, along with the highest quality standards.

"We will strive to ensure that this project is implemented to a high standard and that it benefits the citizens. We will cooperate with local authorities, and we will give priority to the local workforce and companies in the implementation of the project," Wang emphasized.

The construction of the 17-kilometre Bijeljina-Brčko motorway section began today in Velika Obarska near Bijeljina, continuing one of the strategic infrastructure projects in Republika Srpska and BiH.
