VUKADIN: AROUND 100 FORESTRY WORKERS HELPING FIGHT FIRE ON TREBEVIĆ

ISTOČNO SARAJEVO, AUGUST 27 /SRNA/ – Around 100 forestry workers will also take part today in fighting the fire on Trebević, which has flared up again, the head of the Territorial Fire and Rescue Unit of Istočno Sarajevo, Njegoš Vukadin, told SRNA.

"Today we will have a more efficient firefighting operation and try to put out the fire," Vukadin said.

He noted that firefighters, vehicles and forestry workers have been deployed at the scene and that they have sufficient quantities of water.

"The fire, which flared up again last night, is under control and nothing is at risk," he said, adding that the inaccessible terrain below the transmission tower is making firefighting more difficult.

Vukadin stressed that firefighters are deploying all available forces, but at the same time they must ensure that sufficient personnel and equipment remain available to protect populated areas in the territory of Istočno Sarajevo City.
