BANJA LUKA, JANUARY 30 /SRNA/ - Through the activities of the Solidarity Fund for the Diagnosis and Treatment of Diseases, Conditions, and Injuries of Children Abroad "Duša Djece" more than 1,200 children have received treatment outside Republika Srpska since 2018, for which around BAM 44 million have been allocated, the Fund's director Jasminka Vučković told SRNA.

Vučković revealed that one of the single largest amounts last year exceeded USD 700,000 for the treatment of a child in the United States, stressing that within the Fund, there is no such answer as something being impossible.

"The point is that there is no such answer as `it can't be done`. The only answer is that we will do everything within our power to reach the goal and provide help. I don't know if we will succeed, but we will try everything," Vučković said in SRNA's podcast.

She added that the Solidarity Fund was established to ensure that the treatment of children outside Republika Srpska is addressed on a permanent institutional basis.

In SRNA's podcast, Vučković also spoke about the growing number of requests for treatment of children abroad, the Fund’s cooperation with healthcare institutions in the region and beyond, and the importance of human support in the Fund's work.

She said that over the past eight years, many wonderful people have entered her life, ready to give of themselves for others.

"Unfortunately, we have entered a world of soullessness, where we no longer feel the need to know who our neighbors are, whom we live with, or what problems they face," Vučković said.

The new episode of the podcast, featuring Jasminka Vučković, the director of the Solidarity Fund for the Diagnosis and Treatment of Diseases, Conditions, and Injuries of Children Abroad "Duša Djece" will be available tomorrow at 10:00 to users of SRNA's service, as well as on SRNA's YouTube channel and social media platforms.
