VIDOVIĆ: SRPSKA TO ISSUE BONDS WORTH BAM 3.67 MILLION FOR OLD SAVINGS REPAYMENT

BANJA LUKA, SEPTEMBER 10 /SRNA/ — The Government of Republika Srpska plans to issue bonds totaling BAM 3.67 million to settle claims arising from old foreign-currency savings, Finance Minister Zora Vidović has stated.

Vidović said 142 citizens had applied for repayment and that the payments would be made within the deadlines prescribed by law.

She noted that old foreign-currency savers whose deposits amounted to several thousand BAM would also be paid in cash.

"About BAM 315,000 will be paid for this purpose," Vidović said at a news conference in Banja Luka following the session of the Republika Srpska Government.

She stated BAM 595 million in old foreign-currency savings had been repaid so far.

"About BAM 5 million remains to be repaid, and this will be completed," Vidović said.
