BANJA LUKA, JUNE 27 /SRNA/ – Republika Srpska Prime Minister Savo Minić extended greetings to the commander and members of the Third Infantry /Republika Srpska/ Regiment, as well as former members of the Republika Srpska Army, on the occasion of Vidovdan/St. Vitus Day, the patron saint's day of the Republika Srpska Army, stressing that it is a day to remember those who stood in defence of Republika Srpska when it was most needed.

"Vidovdan is a day when we proudly and gratefully remember all those who, guided by their love for their people and homeland, stood in its defence when it was most needed," Minić said.

He stressed that their courage, self-sacrifice and determination are built into the very foundations of Republika Srpska.

"With special reverence, we remember our fallen soldiers, whose names are permanently inscribed in the history of Republika Srpska. Their sacrifice obliges us to preserve the truth about the Defensive-Patriotic War, cherish the culture of remembrance and continue building Republika Srpska as a lasting guarantor of freedom, peace and a dignified life for its citizens," Minić said in his congratulatory note.

He added that the Third Infantry /Republika Srpska/ Regiment has the important and honourable task of preserving the tradition of the Republika Srpska Army and the memory of its soldiers, passing those values on to future generations.

"May Vidovdan once again remind us of the importance of unity, harmony and responsibility towards Republika Srpska, so that together we may preserve the peace, freedom and dignity of our people. I extend my sincere congratulations, along with my deep respect and gratitude for everything you have done and continue to do in preserving the glorious tradition of the Republika Srpska Army," Minić said.
