UNIVERSITY OFFERS SUPPORT TO STUDENTS AND COLLEAGUES FROM KOSOVO AND METOHIJA

PALE, MARCH 16 /SRNA/ - Students of the University of Istočno Sarajevo held a rally in support of students from Kosovo and Metohija on Monday evening in Pale, sending the message that they are not alone.

Participants in the rally carried the flags of Republika Srpska and Serbia, held a banner reading “One youth, one people, one vow,” sang songs about Kosovo and Metohija. Flares were also lit during the rally.

The rally in front of the Cathedral of the Holy Archangel Gabriel was organized by the Student Union of Republika Srpska and the Student Parliament of the University of Istočno Sarajevo.

The Rector of the University of Istočno Sarajevo, Milan Kulić, told SRNA that the aim of the rally was to send a message that students from Kosovo and Metohija are not alone and that they have the sincere support of their colleagues in Republika Srpska.

“We want the situation to stabilize and for our long-suffering people in Kosovo and Metohija to finally begin living normally,” Kulić emphasized.

Kulić added that the University of Istočno Sarajevo stands ready to assist students and colleagues from Kosovo and Metohija in any way it can as an academic institution.

He said that the University of Istočno Sarajevo has long maintained good cooperation with the University of Priština, with temporary headquarters in Kosovska Mitrovica.
