BANJA LUKA, MAY 29 /SRNA/ - The head of the SNSD Caucus in the Republika Srpska National Assembly Srđan Mazalica told SRNA that the unconstitutional Court of BiH has become Christian Schmidt’s branch office and no longer rules based on law, but instead follows the interests of only one nation and a political agenda.

“When you have the power to outvote others, you can justify anything - even the impossible - such as claiming that a law requiring greater transparency in the work of non-profit organisations is unconstitutional,” said Mazalica.

Commenting on the decision of the unconstitutional Court of BiH that the Law on Special Register and Publicity of Republika Srpska Non-Profit Organisations’ work is not in accordance with the Constitution of BiH and Article 11 of the European Convention on Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms, Mazalica stated that someone had to sharpen their pencil well to come up with an explanation for such a decision.

Mazalica emphasized that the unconstitutional Court has become a branch office of Christian Schmidt and an informal group of ambassadors who call themselves the “Peace Implementation Council’s /PIC/ Steering Board.”

“It is enough to read their statements to know how the Constitutional Court will rule. Foreign mentors exploit the fact that the Court is mentioned in the Constitution of BiH - unlike many other institutions - and use it to implement their political agenda, centralize BiH, and strip Republika Srpska of its competencies,” Mazalica said.

He stressed that the unconstitutional Court of BiH has made certain decisions by violating its own rules without the necessary quorum for decision-making.

“Even the fact that it is mentioned in the Constitution and in the PIC Steering Board can’t help them with that,” Mazalica added.

Today, the unconstitutional Court annulled several laws and acts passed by the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, claiming that they are “not in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution of BiH.”
