UGLJEVIK BACK IN OPERATION, BARRING TECHNICAL ISSUES

UGLJEVIK, OCTOBER 27 /SRNA/ - The Ugljevik thermal power plant will be back on the grid tonight, barring any technical problems, the director of the Ugljevik Mine and Thermal Power Plant Žarko Novaković told SRNA.

"The power plant will be on the grid unless problems arise at the plant itself, such as a component failing. Otherwise, it will be on the grid from midnight," Novaković said.

Elektroprivreda Republike Srpske /ERS/ Director General Luka Petrović said earlier that the Ugljevik plant would be back on the grid tonight, that it has enough domestic coal, and that purchased coal from Prijedor began arriving yesterday.

He said the Ugljevik plant needs to operate because of high electricity prices on the market, and that he is confident it will maintain continuous production until December 25.
