BANJA LUKA, 28 NOVEMBER /SRNA/ – The Acting President of Republika Srpska, Ana Trišić Babić, has assessed today that Republika Srpska enjoys a very strong international position, as reflected in its political and economic relations with Hungary.
"The recent visit of Republika Srpska officials to Budapest, as well as the visit of Hungary’s Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto to Banja Luka, are examples of the good and friendly relations between Serbs and Hungarians. Once again, these visits confirmed the continuation of cooperation across various fields," Babić told SRNA.
She emphasized that meetings between Republika Srpska officials and Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban have become regular, contributing to the constant improvement of relations.
"We have very good cooperation in agriculture, education, and culture. Hungary supports agriculture in Republika Srpska through a dedicated fund. There are many requests, actually more than expected, from farmers in Srpska seeking cooperation with Hungary," Babić noted.
She also stressed the significance of scholarships for students from Republika Srpska who wish to study in Hungary.
"In the next ten days, representatives from Hungary will visit Republika Srpska and speak at the University of Banja Luka about scholarship opportunities and the conditions required to obtain them," Babić announced.
She evaluated the political cooperation with Hungary as the highest level of collaboration.
"The cooperation between Republika Srpska and Hungary is friendly. This is extremely important in these difficult times," Babić stressed.
She pointed out that Hungary is Republika Srpska’s greatest friend in the EU, as well as a close ally of Serbia.
"The Minister of Defense in the Council of Ministers, Zukan Helez, is attempting to undermine this friendship. His recent actions have harmed not only himself and his office but also BiH. Hungary is an EU and NATO member, whose troops are present in BiH, and it is inconceivable to prohibit the landing of a military aircraft in Banja Luka," Babić underlined.
