TRIŠIĆ BABIĆ: IRB OFFICIALS HOLD TALKS WITH U.S. INVESTORS ON OPPORTUNITIES IN REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

BANJA LUKA, JUNE 17 /SRNA/ – Representatives of the Investment-Development Bank of Republika Srpska /IRBRS/ are currently in New York and Chicago holding discussions with investment funds and banking representatives interested in investing in Republika Srpska, Ana Trišić Babić, acting director of the Office for International Cooperation of Republika Srpska, said today.

She emphasized that Republika Srpska offers favorable conditions for American investment due to its geographic position in this part of Europe and noted that Republika Srpska signed its first memorandum of understanding with the US company Bechtel regarding the implementation of development projects.

Trišić Babić, who is also a member of the SNSD Main Board, announced that another conference similar to the one organized by the Gold Institute from Washington will be held in Republika Srpska in late August or early September.

She said the previous conference attracted significant attendance, bringing together international experts, former and current diplomats and security specialists from four continents, and received high marks from participants.

Speaking at a press conference in Banja Luka, Trišić Babić stressed the importance of promoting Republika Srpska through culture as well, pointing to the recent Petar Kočić Theater Festival in Banja Luka, which this year gained a place on the regional cultural map.

"This year, the Theater Festival also expanded to other parts of Republika Srpska, with performances staged in Trebinje, Istočno Sarajevo, Derventa and Gradiška", Babić said.

Trišić Babić added that cultural workers had made considerable efforts to ensure that Republika Srpska is represented internationally under its own flag, citing the participation of the Republika Srpska Children's Theatre at an international festival in Kazan as an example.
