TREBINJE - ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL CITIES OF SRPSKA AND REGION

TREBINJE, SEPTEMBER 13 /SRNA/ - Trebinje is one of the most beautiful cities in Republika Srpska and the region, whose numerous sights and tourist pearls are visited annually by tourists from more than 90 countries around the world.

The city area is home to numerous tourist sites, monuments, churches and monasteries that the people of Trebinje are proud of, and tourists are very happy to visit them.

The Old Town is a must-see with its numerous narrow streets, which also houses the Museum of Herzegovina and numerous restaurants.

The Cathedral of the Transfiguration of the Lord is located in Trebinje's central Jovan Dučić Park.

The city, which is divided into two parts by the Trebišnjica River, the longest underwater river in Europe, is especially famous for its summer garden Platani with 16 century-old plane trees, an indispensable vacation spot for the people of Trebinje and numerous tourists.

The Trebinje area is also home to many famous medieval monasteries, such as the Monastery of St. Peter and Paul in Petrovo Polje, Zavala, Tvrdoš, as well as the Duži Monastery and Hercegovacka Gračanica, where the Serbian poet Jovan Dučić is buried.

The spokesperson for the Trebinje Tourist Organization Nikola Kokić told SRNA that the tourist offer is extremely well and richly segmented and that the city has something to offer in all areas.

"Everyone can find something in Trebinje that suits their affinities, but religious tourism with ancient monasteries is unavoidable," Kokić pointed out, adding that the famous Platani garden, Dučićeva Street, and the city market with its unchanged form for over 100 years are also a must-see.

Kokić stated that the Old Town, as a tourist gem, takes precedence over other attractions in Trebinje year after year and is the most visited.

"A real revolution in the tourist offer was also demonstrated by Trebinje's City of the Sun, where tourists can find a variety of content according to their interests, and there are also famous wineries, restaurants and vineyards," noted Kokić.

Trebinje is the southernmost city in Republika Srpska and is located in the valley of the Trebišnjica River, on the border of Republika Srpska, i.e. BiH, Montenegro and Croatia, and annually more than 200,000 overnight stays are booked by tourists from around 90 countries around the world. /to be continued/
