FOČA, MAY 8 /SRNA/ – Following morning prayers at the Church of St. Sava, 100 students from the Faculty of Medicine and the Orthodox Theological Faculty of the University of Istočno Sarajevo set off from Foča on a peš pilgrimage to Ostrog Monastery.

The pilgrimage, during which exhaustion disappears as soon as pilgrims pass through the monastery gates, continues to attract a growing number of student pilgrims each year from Republika Srpska, Serbia and Montenegro studying at the two faculties in Foča.

The route is 144 kilometers long and leads through Šćepan Polje, Plužine, Piva Monastery and Nikšić, lasting four days.

The students are expected to arrive at Ostrog Monastery on Monday, May 11, on the eve of the feast day dedicated to St. Basil of Ostrog.

The traditional pilgrimage from Foča to Ostrog Monastery, where pilgrims venerate the relics of the Serbian miracle worker, has been organized for the eighth consecutive year by the Student Parliament of the Boriša Starović Student Center.
