THEY TREAT PROPONENTS OF WAR AS PEACEMAKERS AND THIS IS BROADCAST BY PUBLIC BROADCASTER

BANJA LUKA, AUGUST 10 /SRNA/ - The Republika Srpska Veterans' Organization /BORS/ emphasizes that it is not problematic that Bosniaks in the Federation of BiH commemorate what is important to them, but the issue is that proponents of war and a unitary BiH based on Islamic values are being portrayed as peacemakers, and all of this is broadcast by the public broadcaster BHRT, which supposedly operates in the interest of all three constituent peoples in BiH.

BORS also points out that it is problematic that Serbs are prohibited from commemorating what is important to them.

“It is problematic that those who were the extended hand of Western powers and direct perpetrators in the breakup of former Yugoslavia, proponents of war and a unitary BiH based on Islamic values excluding the Serb people, are now being treated as peacemakers and advocates of multiethnicity,” the Republika Srpska Veterans’ Organization /BORS/ stated in response to the commemoration of 100 years since the birth of Alija Izetbegović in Zenica.

BORS also pointed out that the presence at this event of Stjepan Mesić, a follower of Ante Starčević’s ideology and neo-Ustaša movement, which resulted in ethnic cleansing and genocide of the Serb people in today’s Croatia, speaks volumes about the “respect” given to the values of peace and multiethnicity.

“And still, none of this would be problematic because it is completely clear to us, at least to those of us who defended freedom with a rifle in hand, who thinks what, were it not for the fact that all this is broadcast by the public broadcaster BHRT, which supposedly operates in the interest of all three constituent peoples in BiH, and whose functioning the Serb people fund through their television subscription,” the statement emphasizes.

BORS points out that it can be concluded from this that today the Serb people finance the public broadcaster only for it to mock and insult them, and finance the High Representative to remove their legally elected representatives, impose laws, and invent criminal offenses.

“In the upcoming period, we can expect to finance the Constitutional Court to abolish our holidays, anthem, coat of arms, national symbols, laws, and decisions adopted by the legally elected representatives of the Serb people; to finance SIPA and the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH to arrest us; and for the Court of BiH to try everyone who fought for freedom as the greatest value of the Serb people,” BORS emphasized.

The statement notes that all of this is not science fiction, but unfortunately harsh truth and reality, adding that since 1996, there has been no answer to the question of where the way out is and what the strategy is.

The central celebration of the 100th anniversary of the birth of Alija Izetbegović was held on Friday, August 8, at the Bosnian National Theatre in Zenica, during which he was presented as someone who advocated for multiethnicity and “as the first president of BiH,” and the event was broadcast by BHRT.

The gathering was organized by the Government of the Zenica-Doboj Canton, and Stjepan Mesić was one of the guests.
