THERE IS ROOM FOR FURTHER IMPROVEMENT OF COOPERATION BETWEEN UNIVERSITIES AND SCIENTIFIC INSTITUTIONS

MOSCOW, SEPTEMBER 22 /SRNA/ - Republika Srpska Minister for Scientific and Technological Development and Higher Education Draga Mastilović said today that there is room for further improvement of cooperation between universities and scientific institutions in Srpska and Russia.

At the round table "The Future of Republika Srpska: Prospects for Cooperation" in Moscow, Mastilović stressed that linking universities and scientific research institutions in Srpska and Russia provides an important basis for exchanging knowledge and experience and implementing joint projects.

"There is room for further improvement of cooperation, particularly through joint scientific research projects, exchanges of teaching and research staff, cooperation in higher education, as well as connecting students and young researchers," Mastilović said.

The round table was organized by the Russian-Balkan Dialogue Centre for International Cooperation and the Russian-Balkan Centre for Business Cooperation and Culture, the Republika Srpska Ministry for Scientific and Technological Development and Higher Education said.

The event brought together more than 30 representatives of the education sector, diplomatic corps, chambers of commerce and industry, the business community, public organizations and the media.

The organizers identified strengthening business, social and humanitarian cooperation between Republika Srpska and the Russian Federation as one of the event's main objectives.

At a recent meeting in Kazan, Minister Mastilović and Russian Deputy Minister of Science and Education Konstantin Mogilevsky launched an initiative to establish an association of Serbian and Russian universities, which in its initial phase would bring together public universities from Republika Srpska and 17 universities from the Russian Federation in the fields of science and higher education.
