TALIĆ: ADDITIONAL CAPACITY FOR EMPLOYMENT, TREATMENT AND INTRODUCTION OF NEW PROCEDURES

BANJA LUKA, SEPTEMBER 2 /SRNA/ - Goran Talić, director of the Dr Miroslav Zotović Institute, said that the new Slateks complex in Slatina near Banja Luka, presented today at the Institute, would provide additional capacity for treatment, create new jobs and enable the introduction of entirely new procedures in healthcare.

“These include cardiac, pulmonary, vascular and oncological rehabilitation, as well as diabetes prevention - the scourge of the modern age, a non-communicable disease that has serious consequences,” Talić told reporters after the project presentation.

He said that the Institute in Slatina would gain 30,000 square metres of additional facilities and 10,000 square metres of garage space through the expansion.

Talić added that the entire project to build the complex, which will be unique in the region, would require around BAM 500 million, while approximately BAM 80 million would be needed for the first phase.

“The plan is for the funds to be approved in phases. We already have funding for the construction of a hospital pharmacy, which is expected to begin in about three months. We still need to complete the tender documentation,” Talić said.

He said that the second phase would involve the construction of large-scale facilities within the existing park, without altering its current appearance.

“This would combine healthcare, conference tourism and tourism in general, creating many opportunities for employment and the development of the entire economy in Republika Srpska,” Talić said.

He thanked Republika Srpska Prime Minister Savo Minić and President Milorad Dodik for their support in implementing the project, saying that he expected this support to help accelerate its implementation
