SUPPORT FOR DEMOBILIZED VETERANS’ ASSEMBLY IN HAN PIJESAK

BANJA LUKA, AUGUST 24 /SRNA/ - The Defense of Srpska Movement supports the initiative to hold the “We Know Why” Assembly of Demobilized Veterans on Sunday, August 30, in Han Pijesak, saying that the tradition of defending freedom and the legacy of the 1992–1995 Defensive-Patriotic War must be preserved, and that the image of the Serb soldier should remain forever in the collective consciousness of the Serb people.

The movement said that Han Pijesak was a site of strategic command and decision-making carried out by the Main Staff of the Republika Srpska Arny /RSA/ on behalf of the people and the state, describing the municipality as a symbol of a heroic deed and the highest accomplishment of the people.

They called on patriots, veterans and their family members to attend the Assembly of Veterans, saying that this would reaffirm that the image and legacy of the Serb soldier are enduring and fundamental values.

“The finest sons and daughters of the Serb people gave their lives to lay the foundations for our survival, as well as for the survival of all other peoples and others living in our region,” the Defense of Srpska Movement said in a statement.

They emphasized that, in carrying out the most important national task, the Republika Srpska Army /RSA/ and the Police of Republika Srpska defended the homes of the Serb people and established Republika Srpska.

Republika Srpska Minister of Labor, War Veterans' and Disabled Persons' Protection Radan Ostojić announced today that an assembly will be held in Han Pijesak on Sunday, August 30, bringing together demobilized veterans, war military invalids, families of fallen soldiers, as well as all those who respect the legacy and deeds of the Serb soldier.
