SULJAGIĆ'S CLAIMS OF PLANNED OPERATION AT MEMORIAL CENTER UNFOUNDED

BANJA LUKA, SEPTEMBER 28 /SRNA/ - The Republika Srpska Ministry of the Interior /MoI/ has rejected as completely false and unfounded claims by Srebrenica Memorial Center Director Emir Suljagić that the Republika Srpska police are preparing to arrest him and carry out an operation involving the Special Anti-Terrorist Unit entering the center.

The Republika Srpska MoI said such claims were irresponsible and amounted to presenting unverified information as fact, thereby creating, without any basis, the impression that a police plan and operation existed when no such plan was in place.

In this case, the Republika Srpska MoI is acting solely at the request and under the supervision of the prosecutor handling the case at the Bijeljina District Public Prosecutor's Office, in connection with a report concerning possible elements of the criminal offense of tax and contribution evasion.

The Republika Srpska MoI called for an end to fabricated claims about alleged police operations, arrests and raids, saying there was no factual basis for such assertions.
