BANJA LUKA, DECEMBER 26 /SRNA/ – Serbian actress Iva Štrljić told SRNA that the role of public figures in humanitarian actions is extremely important, adding that she always responds wholeheartedly to initiatives driven by noble and sincere intentions.
This is why she came to Banja Luka without hesitation to attend the donor evening "With Love, Brave Hearts," dedicated to helping children and young people with developmental disabilities.
"Whenever someone invites me with such a beautiful, humane and warm intention, I respond wholeheartedly, especially when the goal is to help young people and children. This time the focus is on children with autism, which always touches me in a special way. That is the main reason why I came," Štrljić said in SRNA’s podcast.
She stressed that the donor evening "With Love, Brave Hearts" is a noble initiative with a clear and meaningful purpose.
"I think it is a wonderful idea, because one person can do a lot, but a team can always do much more. That is why I fully support the idea of donor evenings," Štrljić said.
According to her, the donor evening "With Love, Brave Hearts" has additional strength because many public figures will stand behind it and offer help to those in need.
"That is a wonderful, great and significant act,"Štrljić said.
She pointed out that all public figures should respond to invitations and take part in initiatives such as the donor evenings "With Love, Brave Hearts."
"I would not understand why someone would not want to participate. If you are invited to help someone who has a problem and you are in a position to do so, then you should be grateful for that invitation. I am grateful that I was invited and that I can contribute with my presence to making things easier for someone,"Štrljić emphasized.
She added that all artists must contribute to breaking down prejudices and creating a more inclusive environment for persons with developmental disabilities.
"Only if you embrace someone who is in some way different will that person feel better. That is what inclusion means, that we are all the same," Štrljić said.
She noted that everyone should take part in actions such as the donor evening "With Love, Brave Hearts," because helping those in need to live better, more easily or more peacefully is extremely important.
“Some people can help with kind words, some can help financially, but everyone, especially those who are in the public eye, has a way to help,” Štrljić stressed.
The 16th donor evening "With Love, Brave Hearts" will be held tonight in Banja Luka with the aim of raising funds for the establishment and equipping of a center for specialized social services for children and young people with developmental disabilities in Banja Luka, as well as in Derventa and Foča.
The donor evening is being held under the high patronage of the acting President of Republika Srpska, Ana Trišić Babić.
As part of the campaign, the "M:tel" humanitarian number 1411 has been active since December 12 at 12:00 until December 31. By calling this number, citizens donate BAM 1 and thus contribute to the action.
