BELGRADE, DECEMBER 15 /SRNA/ – President of the Serbian Parliament’s Committee on the Diaspora and Serbs in the Region Dragan Stanojević told SRNA that it is unacceptable that the Central Election Commission /CEC/ of BiH has still not announced the results of the snap presidential elections in Republika Srpska, in which Siniša Karan won, adding that those responsible must be held accountable.
"Let them explain why they have taken so long to announce his victory and what the point is. Are they trying to alter the will of the people, or are they trying to falsify documents? What is the purpose of their work? We are well aware of what the purpose is, but under no circumstances should this be allowed," Stanojević said.
He assessed that the BiH CEC has failed to declare Karan’s victory because all those institutions operate under the command of external authorities, Brussels and other centers of power, and that they do not accept any result that would represent continuity with the previous government, which, he said, implies protecting the interests of Republika Srpska and its people, as well as Serbs as a whole.
Commenting on the political situation in Republika Srpska and attempts to override the will of the people by removing the president of Srpska, Stanojević said this was also unacceptable, recalling the actions of the illegitimate Christian Schmidt, who, he said, is illegal in every respect.
"And then, with his decision, he nullifies the will of the people, the people’s choice of president or of any other office. That is simply unacceptable, and to me it is pure fascism," Stanojević said.
He added that such actions must be opposed by all available means, regardless of influence, but not at the expense of sovereignty or the existence of Republika Srpska itself.
"It goes without saying that Serbia must be involved as much as possible, and that we all must take part in defending and protecting the will of the citizens of Republika Srpska, because that is our priority and our most cherished people, as well as the republic we love," Stanojević said.
