BANJA LUKA, NOVEMBER 6 /SRNA/ – The Tax Administration of Republika Srpska collected BAM 3.638 billion in public revenues from January to October this year, BAM 286.1 million or 9 percent more compared to the same period last year, with an increase recorded across all three categories of public revenues, said the Director of the Tax Administration Goran Maričić.
Maričić stated that contributions for the first ten months of this year increased by 10 percent, matching the growth in the collection of other public revenues, while direct tax collection rose by 4 percent, the Tax Administration said in a press release.
"The largest portion of public revenue came from social insurance contributions, which amounted to BAM 2.285 billion, or BAM 209.6 million more than in the same period last year," Maričić highlighted.
He added that contributions to the Pension and Disability Insurance Fund /PIO/, Health Insurance Fund, and Employment Bureau each grew by 10 percent, while contributions to the Child Protection Fund rose by 9 percent.
Direct taxes totaled BAM 831.4 million, an increase of BAM 30.6 million compared to the first ten months of last year.
Growth was recorded in income tax collection, which reached BAM 396.3 million, up by BAM 56 million, while corporate income tax collection decreased by around BAM 30.4 million.
"The lower corporate tax collection is due to several major taxpayers reporting lower profits for 2024 compared to 2023, which naturally resulted in lower tax payments," Maričić explained.
Regarding property tax, Maričić said that BAM 36.3 million was collected this year, an increase of 13 percent.
In the category of other public revenues, total collection from January to October reached BAM 521.5 million, which is BAM 45.8 million more than in the same period last year.
Revenue from fees and charges amounted to BAM 263 million, marking a 9 percent increase.
Maričić also noted continued growth in gaming fees /up 11 percent/ and fines /up 15 percent/.
"As for October alone, revenue collection amounted to BAM 377.3 million, which is BAM 50.8 million or 16 percent more than in the same month last year," Maričić emphasized.
