BANJA LUKA, MAY 12 /SRNA/ – SNSD leader Milorad Dodik has said today that if Christian Schmidt imposes a law on state property, a decision on the independence of Republika Srpska will immediately be adopted.
"We will no longer allow anyone to deal with us in that way. Schmidt's decisions must be annulled. Once it is completed, Republika Srpska is ready for talks and agreements within BiH. Before that, we will not engage in talks," Dodik told the press in Banja Luka.
He stated that identifying any Serb today with BiH is equal to betraying Serb soldiers who gave their lives for Republika Srpska.
"Such distorted, anti-Dayton BiH, in which nothing from the Constitution is respected, cannot survive," Dodik said.
He believes that Muslim politicians, together with foreigners and, as he put it, part of the waste from Republika Srpska, will once again try to abolish Republika Srpska and blame the Serb people.
"The Republika Srpska Army did not commit genocide. That is a fabrication they want to impose as a label and epithet on the Serb people. It is a lie devised by propagandists who wanted to bury the history of the Serb people through the two world wars," Dodik said.
He stressed that Republika Srpska is neither a misconception nor an act of defiance by the Serb people, which is why it endures, because it is genuinely rooted in the people.
"BiH today is a Frankenstein for the Serb people that cannot bring anything good to Serbs. The longer we remain in BiH, the worse it will be for us," Dodik said.
He added that Republika Srpska does not want to enter into any war conflict, but believes that after global unrest the civilized world will eventually ensure the right of peoples to self-determination.
"We must unite around that idea. There is not a single sign that could give optimism for our continued stay in BiH. BiH was an experiment in which the development of Republika Srpska and all its projects were halted," Dodik stressed.
He recalled that one Muslim blocked the opening of the bridge over the Sava River near Gradiška, which is intended to connect Banja Luka with the Zagreb–Belgrade motorway, in which Republika Srpska invested BAM 35 million.
