PALE, JUNE 19 /SRNA/ - President Milorad Dodik said today in Pale that it is often stated that the Republika Srpska police is the best police agency at the level of BiH, but that the goal is for it to become one of the best in the region.

Dodik said the aim is for the Republika Srpska police to be regionally recognizable and perceived as such by the citizens of Srpska and others.

Expressing happiness and pride over the opening of the newly built Istočno Sarajevo Police Administration building in Pale, Dodik said this shows that the institutions of Srpska care about society.

“We will provide everything that can be provided for the police and their training,” Dodik told reporters.

He said that the building of the Police Administration will stand as a testament to the times when there was a commitment to making Republika Srpska more stable, better, and safer.

He stressed that the Republika Srpska police will become an even greater factor in overall security in the future, and, therefore, there should be no tolerance for any form of crime.

Dodik assessed that police officers in Srpska should be granted the same rights as police officers in the United States.

The police, he says, must not be subject to any form of belittling in the name of some imaginary human and other rights.

„Criminals and gangs have no human rights; that must be clear to everyone,“ Dodik said, adding that criminals may have the right to defend themselves, but must, without exception, be held accountable when they commit acts that disturb people, citizens, society, or the state.

Dodik stressed that, in addition to a 40% salary increase, all police officers in Srpska will receive an additional 5% pay rise in the coming months.

Speaking about further investments in Pale, Dodik said that within two months, a tender should be completed and construction of the building of the Museum of the Creators of Republika Srpska should be resumed, which will be a representative facility for the institutions of Srpska and will be available for use by senior officials of Republika Srpska.

Dodik said that Pale is today a highly developed municipality and expressed satisfaction with the contributions of SNSD mayors to its development over the past several terms.

He recalled that BAM one million has been approved for the construction of a kindergarten in Pale, of which BAM 500,000 has already been transferred to the municipality.
