SRPSKA BREAKS RECORDS IN 10 MONTHS, RECORDING OVER ONE MILLION OVERNIGHT STAYS

BANJA LUKA, DECEMBER 1 /SRNA/ - A total of 442,353 tourists visited Republika Srpska during the first 10 months of this year, recording 1,039,334 overnight stays, which represents a 4.6% increase in arrivals and a 2.5% increase in overnight stays compared to last year, the Tourism Organization of Srpska told SRNA.

Sanela Šimun, the Public Relations Associate at the Organization, stated that mountain destinations recorded a 7.5 percent increase in overnight stays, spa resorts a 2.4 percent increase, and destinations with attractive features, such as favorable climate, cultural and historical sites, and river or lake areas, saw a one percent increase.

She noted that during the first seven months of this year, visitors stayed an average of 2.4 days.

"As in previous years, the largest number of visitors, apart from domestic tourists, came from Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia, and Montenegro, while among other countries, Turkey, Germany, Austria, China, and Italy stand out," Šimun stated.

She added that domestic tourists recorded the highest number of overnight stays in spa resorts, followed by tourist destinations with attractive features, then mountain destinations, as well as other locations that cannot be classified into these categories but offer accommodation facilities.

"Foreign tourists recorded the highest number of overnight stays in other tourist destinations, followed by spa resorts and mountain areas," Šimun said.
