PRNJAVOR, APRIL 15 /SRNA/ – A London dry gin from the "Milijaš" distillery in Srbac has won a gold medal at the prestigious international competition in Frankfurt, which featured more than 3,300 samples from around the world.
In addition to the gold medal awarded at the "Frankfurt International Trophy", "D Gin" also received recognition as the best alcoholic beverage from BiH, marking a significant success for domestic production.
The distillery founder Maja Milijaš told SRNA that the gold medal confirms quality, but also proves that knowledge gains its true value only when put into practice.
“In a way, this feels like closing one chapter while opening a new one, giving me space to focus on the most subtle details and make an additional step forward in the world of spirits,” Milijaš noted.
She explained that "D Gin" was created out of a desire to transform knowledge gained through formal education into a product that can be smelled, tasted and shared.
“Alongside science and laboratory analysis, I developed the ability to recognize nuances, balance and the character of a product, as well as the desire to test all of that in the real world. I began developing the recipe three years ago, and it was a process that required a lot of patience, testing, and precision until I achieved a product that met my criteria,” Milijaš stated.
She emphasized that it is particularly symbolic that she took her first steps in learning about this type of spirit in Frankfurt.
“That is why entering the 'Frankfurt International Trophy' was not only a professional step, but a personal one as well. It was also the first time that 'D Gin' was presented to an expert jury capable of recognizing the most subtle nuances of taste and aroma,” Milijaš said.
The distillery noted that feedback from the expert jury is highly valuable, as it highlights areas for further improvement and product development.
“This award is an incentive for further positioning of domestic products on the international market,” the distillery stated.
