ŠOBIĆ: ALL SERBS SHOULD SEE ZAFRANOVIĆ'S NEW FILM "CHILDREN OF KOZARA"

BANJA LUKA, SEPTEMBER 29 /SRNA/ - Slobodan Šobić, president of the Republika Srpska Association of Veterans of the People's Liberation War Оrganization/SUBNOR/, told SRNA that Lordan Zafranović's film "The Golden Cut 42 - Children of Kozara," which tells about the suffering of the Serb people, including children, in the notorious Jasenovac concentration camp, should be seen by as many Serbs in this region as possible so that the suffering of the Second World War is never repeated.

Šobić said it was very important to once again examine the scale of the crimes committed by Croatian and Ustasha-fascist forces.

"This film by renowned director Lordan Zafranović, which will be screened in Banja Luka on Saturday, October 3, is very important for the Serb people, particularly for the victims of Jasenovac from 1941 to 1945," Šobić said.

"The Golden Cut 42 - Children of Kozara," about the suffering of the people of Kozara in the Jasenovac camp, is a contemporary film with a historical basis that speaks about the state of the human spirit today through the lens of a historical horror that took place.

The film tells the story of the suffering of Serbs from Kozara during World War II, focusing on children who were separated from their parents during the 1942 offensive and deported to camps and other locations in the then Independent State of Croatia /NDH/.

The film will be screened in Banja Luka on Saturday, October 3, and its production was supported by institutions of Republika Srpska and Serbia. The premiere in Belgrade is scheduled for the previous day.

Lordan Zafranović was born in 1944 in Maslinica on the island of Šolta. He is the author of more than 80 documentary and feature films, including "The Blood and Ashes of Jasenovac," "Occupation in 26 Pictures," "The Fall of Italy" and the recently completed "The Golden Cut 42 - Children of Kozara".
