BANJA LUKA, SEPTEMBER 18 /SRNA/ – Acting Rector of the University of Banja Luka Ranko Škrbić says there is huge interest among foreign students in studying at the university.

“There is enormous demand from abroad, particularly from China and India. They are asking for more than we can offer. If we had the capacity to offer 100 programmes, 100 times more students would come to Banja Luka,” Škrbić said in a podcast produced by the Republika Srpska Media System – SRNA.

He stressed that working with foreign students strengthens the university’s capacities while providing a higher quality of education for local students.

“Education and learning must be a priority for this country; at this moment they are far more profitable than any industrial sector,” Škrbić emphasized.

He noted that, during the two enrolment periods this year, the university has recorded a slight increase in the number of students compared with the previous year.

Speaking about the awards he received this month from the North American Section of the International Academy of Cardiovascular Sciences and the Global FRED Award, Škrbić said they motivate him to continue his work.

“If you do your job with love and dedication, you never think about awards. Nevertheless, when awards come, of course you are pleased and motivated to continue working,” Škrbić said.

A new episode of the SRNA podcast, featuring acting Rector of the University of Banja Luka Ranko Škrbić, will be available tomorrow at 10:00 to users of the Republika Srpska Media System, as well as on social media and the YouTube channel.
