SKOKO: GACKO RiTE PRODUCED 500 GIGAWATT-HOURS OF ELECTRICITY

GACKO, MAY 15 /SRNA/ – Mine and Thermal Power Plant Gacko recorded a profit of BAM 98,000 in the first quarter of this year, the company’s director Maksim Skoko told SRNA.

He said that electricity production at the thermal power plant since the beginning of the year has been four percent higher than planned, amounting to 538 gigawatt-hours.

"Total revenues this year amounted to BAM 47.6 million, while expenditures were BAM 47.5 million," Skoko emphasized.

He noted that revenues increased thanks to higher electricity production, but that expenditures also rose due to higher energy prices, primarily oil prices, which significantly affect the operating costs of RiTE.

Skoko pointed out that all of this affected the overall amount of profit in the first quarter of this year.

"We are constantly securing the coal necessary for the normal operation of the thermal power plant, which has not experienced any downtime in the last three months, so the mine also operated continuously and highly efficiently," Skoko stressed.

According to him, coal reserves at the stockpile of the Gacko thermal power plant amount to 30,000 tons.

Skoko stated that RiTE Gacko is currently the largest producer of electricity within the system of Republika Srpska Power Industry, despite favourable hydrological conditions during the first quarter of this year
