SREBRENICA, JUNE 24 /SRNA/ - The President of the Municipal Organization of Families of Captured and Fallen Fighters and Missing Civilians of Srebrenica, Branimir Kojić, told SRNA that shooting at an Orthodox cross in Travnik is a shot at peace, as well as a shot at all Orthodox people in BiH.
"This is yet another proof that the Federation of BiH /FBiH/ does not want anything Serbian or anything Orthodox on its territory, where Serbs have long been reduced to the level of a statistical error," Kojić said.
He stated that various Bosniak fanatics will soon head to Potočari near Srebrenica in a so-called "peace march," during which they carry war flags and shout wartime slogans every year; at the same time, the Court and Prosecutor’s Office of BiH do not react to these provocations.
Kojić added that no one in BiH should have any illusions about any kind of coexistence, as it is evident that Serb returnees, and even Serbian cemeteries, are not left in peace in the FBiH.
"Imagine what would happen if someone desecrated a gravestone in Potočari, and I don't even need to speak about the use of firearms. I responsibly claim that The Hague would react," Kojić stated.
Kojić believes that the institutions of Republika Srpska must take a firm stance regarding wartime symbols that offend the families of Serb victims and sanction anyone who glorifies that ideology on the territory of Republika Srpska.
"We have restrained ourselves long enough and considered the feelings of others, while our brothers in the FBiH experience daily torture and harassment," Kojić emphasized.
The Committee for the Protection of the Rights of the Serbs in the FBiH has obtained information that dozens of shots were fired at a Christian Orthodox cross, and toward the Orthodox cemetery in the village of Zaselje near Travnik.
