BANJA LUKA, SEPTEMBER 15 /SRNA/ - Serbs in Republika Srpska and BiH will never depend on the will of political Sarajevo and the Bosniak elite, which failed to prevent Serbian Prime Minister Đuro Macut from coming to Banja Luka, Republika Srpska Interior Minister Željko Budimir said.
Budimir said that the ban on the overflight of the plane carrying Serbian Prime Minister Đuro Macut to Banja Luka was an attempt by political Sarajevo and the Bosniak elite to show Serbs in BiH and Republika Srpska that they depend on their will, which will never be possible.
However, Budimir stressed, they failed to prevent Macut from attending the observance of Serb Unity, Freedom and National Flag Day.
"This is not happening for the first time. At one point, BiH Foreign Minister Elmedin Konaković tried to prevent former Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó from coming to Republika Srpska," Budimir told reporters in Banjaluka.
Budimir said that after October 5, he will be a sad part of the political past, and Serbs in Republika Srpska will remember him as a "con man" who tried to act in an Oriental manner against those who did not share the Bosniak view of BiH.
"It is wrong for Serbia, a signatory and guarantor of the Dayton Agreement, to be treated in such a cheap manner. Perhaps a Serb who becomes the BiH foreign minister could abuse his position similarly, but is that the future of BiH?" Budimir asked.
Foreign Minister in the Council of Ministers Elmedin Konaković yesterday rejected a request for overflight clearance for the plane carrying Serbian Prime Minister Đuro Macut to Banja Luka, saying that the request had not been submitted on time.
