SELAK: DODIK ELIGIBLE TO RUN FOR SERB SEAT IN BiH PRESIDENCY

BANJA LUKA, JUNE 4 /SRNA/ – Republika Srpska Justice Minister Goran Selak stated that the final court ruling against Milorad Dodik does not prevent him from running for the Serb member of the BiH Presidency.

"The wording of the ruling clearly shows that the ban applies exclusively to holding the office of President of Republika Srpska. There is no prohibition on candidacy for, or performance of, other public and political functions in Republika Srpska and BiH", Selak explained.

He stressed that court decisions must be interpreted as they are written in the operative part of the ruling, which is enforceable.

"Milorad Dodik has the right to be a candidate for the Serb member of the BiH Presidency", Selak said.
