RUSSIAN OFFICIALS’ VISIT STRENGTHENS AND PROMOTES THE CITY

EAST SARAJEVO, APRIL 14 /SRNA/ - The Mayor of East Sarajevo Ljubiša Ćosić stated after the visit of the Co-Chairman of the Commission for Trade and Economic Cooperation between BiH and Russia, Anton Shalayev, that this is one of the meetings that are aimed at strengthening the city, promoting it and connecting it with various stakeholders.

Ćosić stated that he informed the guest about East Sarajevo, its origin, history, organisation, and the most important issues related to public and private investments.

He assessed that today's meeting of the Commission and the visit to East Sarajevo are proof that the government institutions at the level of BiH, but the part made up of Republika Srpska representatives, take care that local communities of Srpska are adequately represented and promoted.

Ćosić said that this visit opens up the possibility for the city of East Sarajevo, through the Association of Municipalities and Cities of Republika Srpska, to be represented within the joint commission of BiH and Russia for trade and economic cooperation.

Expressing his belief that Shalayev on behalf of Russia and Košarac on behalf of BiH will advocate for East Sarajevo to adequately promote itself and Republika Srpska, Ćosić concluded that the ultimate goal is the presence of as many Russian companies as possible in Republika Srpska and BiH.

The event in East Sarajevo was also attended by the Russian Ambassador to BiH, Igor Kalabukhov.
