BANJA LUKA, JUNE 4 /SRNA/ – A ceremonial academy marking Russian Language Day will be held tomorrow at the Student Cultural Center of the University of Banja Luka.
The program will feature students of the Academy of Arts of the University of Banja Luka, the Association for the Preservation of Tradition from Prijedor and representatives of the Russian World Cultural Center.
Awards will also be presented to the winners of the competitions "Russia Through My Eyes" and "Russia Through My Lens", along with certificates of appreciation for distinguished individuals and friends of the Center for Russian Studies.
The event is organized by the Center for Russian Studies of the Faculty of Philology at the University of Banja Luka in cooperation with the Russian World Cultural Center.
This year's partners of the academy include the Embassy of the Russian Federation in BiH, Optima Group and the Agricultural School in Banja Luka.
The ceremony is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m.
Russian Language Day is observed on June 6, the birthday of poet Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin. In 2010, the United Nations proclaimed June 6 Russian Language Day in recognition of Russian as one of the organization's official languages.
