RUDANKA-PUTNIKOVO BRDO SECTION IS THE MOST COMPLEX IN SRPSKA, IT PROBABLY WON’T BE COMPLETED ON TIME

DOBOJ, APRIL 9 /SRNA/ - The Minister of Transport and Communications of Republika Srpska Nedeljko Čubrilović said that the Rudanka–Putnikovo Brdo highway section near Doboj, part of Corridor Vc, is the most complex section passing through Republika Srpska, and that the deadline for its construction - extended until the end of the year - will likely not be met.

Čubrilović recalled that the contracted works were initially supposed to be completed by now, but the deadline was extended to the end of the year. He noted that it is likely that even this deadline will not be met due to the complexity of the work and the technologies required to complete the tunnel.

"The contractors are making efforts to complete the section to the highest quality standards, and it is being carried out in accordance with regulations," said Čubrilović after visiting the construction site with the acting director of Republika Srpska Highways Nedeljko Ćorić and a representative of Integral Inženjering.

He says they hope the contractor will make additional efforts, and if the project is not completed by the end of the year, only a short extension would be needed so the section could be connected to the border with the Federation of BiH.

The minister emphasized that the costs should not increase, noting that the project is being financed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

Čubrilović said that the part of the tunnel located in the Federation of BiH - about 120 meters - is being constructed by Integral Inženjering, and that the work will be completed in accordance with the prescribed standards.

"I ask for patience. There are traffic disruptions here, but the work will be completed, and I believe even those transiting through Republika Srpska will be satisfied," Čubrilović said.
