RETAIL AND WHOLESALE MARGINS LIMITED ON KEY GOODS

BANJA LUKA, MARCH 21 /SRNA/ - A decision setting margin limits in the trade of certain products in Republika Srpska, prescribing a maximum margin of six percent in wholesale and eight percent in retail, entered into force today, the Ministry of Trade and Tourism told SRNA.

The decision also sets a maximum margin on medicines at eight percent in wholesale and 20 percent in retail.

It applies to table salt for human consumption in packages from 0.5 to 1.6 kilograms, all packaging of lard, sunflower oil from 0.9 to 5.5 liters, as well as all packaging of vegetable fat.

The decision also covers packages of pasteurized and sterilized milk up to 1.6 liters, yogurt up to 1.6 liters, all packaging of wheat flour, as well as all weights of bread made from this flour.

Margins are also capped on granulated sugar in packages from 0.5 to 5.5 kilograms, as well as all packaging of infant and baby food that serves exclusively as a substitute for breast milk.

All packages of diapers for children and adults are also included.

Margins are also limited for liquid dishwashing detergent of one liter, as well as powdered laundry detergent in packages up to three kilograms.

Inspection oversight of the implementation of this decision will be carried out by the Republika Srpska Inspectorate through republican market inspectors and market inspectors in local self-government units, in accordance with legal authority.

The decision on margin limits in the trade of certain products will remain in force until June 1, 2026.
