RENEWED SUFFERING OF THE MLAĐENOVIĆ FAMILY - EVIDENCE OF THE CONTINUED DESTRUCTION OF SERBS

BRATUNAC, AUGUST 7 /SRNA/ - The village of Ježestica near Bratunac will tomorrow mark 34 years since the crime against Serbs during the last war, when Muslim forces killed 39 villagers; a memorial service will also be held for 161 Serb victims from this village and its hamlets who were killed in the Second World War.

This Serb village never recovered from the demographic losses suffered during the Second World War, and it experienced further loss of life on August 8, 1992.

Ježestica was devastated during an incursion by Muslim forces from Srebrenica, which killed everyone they came across, looted livestock and movable Serb property, and burned down immovable property.

The continuity of Serb suffering in the Drina region throughout the 20th century, the repetition of history, and efforts by Muslims to eradicate everything Serbian in this area are best illustrated by the double tragedy of the family of Ljubomir Mlađenović.

If the definitions and terminology of the Hague Tribunal were to be applied, the Mlađenović family and the Serb population in the Drina region are victims of a decades-long continuous joint criminal enterprise, or genocide, by Austro-German forces, which were always assisted most brutally by local Muslims and which, acting independently and without any restraint, continued this in the last war in BiH.

HISTORY REPEATS ITSELF

The tragedy of Ljubomir Mlađenović, a Serb from Ježestica, clearly reflects the repetition of history and what is described as a continuous effort to erase traces of Serb existence, both in 1942 and in 1992, and bears witness to the horrific crimes against Serbs in the Middle Drina region during the last century.

The same attitude and policy have been present since the outbreak of the First World War, with only the means and methods used to implement them changing over time to the present day. The goal of this policy has also remained the same — the disappearance of the Serb people from the left bank of the Drina River, at any cost.

In the 21st century, the successors of Benjamin Kallay, Oskar Potiorek and other Austro-German Serb-haters, in the form of the high representatives of the international community for the unfortunate BiH, from Wolfgang Petritsch, Valentin Inzko and Christian Schwarz-Schilling to the illegitimate Christian Schmidt, are imposing laws in a totalitarian manner and seeking to discipline the Serb people.

They want Serbs, under their constant threats, pressure and judicial tyranny, to endure and obediently carry out their arbitrary decisions and a destructive policy, and to abandon their ancestral homes, since Muslims failed during the war to kill and expel all of them from BiH, although that was their intention, as the traces and crimes demonstrate.

They want, through various threats, pressures, bans and verdicts, to force the Serb people west of the Drina River to renounce their identity.

In the 1942 attack on the Serb village of Ježestica by Muslim criminals integrated into the fascist Ustasha units, almost the entire village was wiped out - children, women and the elderly were killed.

In that year, Ljubomir Mlađenović lost his father, mother, three-year-old daughter Jela and his pregnant wife, who were killed on the doorstep of their home. According to the account, his wife was brutally tortured while pregnant and then disembowelled by Muslims from neighbouring Bratunac and Srebrenica.

His brother Petar Mlađenović, Petar's wife and their four daughters were also killed.

Ljubomir was captured and taken to a camp in Germany, from where he returned only after the war. The perpetrators of this monstrous crime were never punished.

In the genocide committed in the Drina region from 1941 to 1945 by Muslims from Srebrenica and Bratunac as members of Ustasha units, at least 6,469 Serbs were killed, including around 400 children, according to documents on the suffering of Serbs in the 20th century.

LJUBOMIR LOST HIS FAMILY FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 1942

It was a great trauma for Ljubomir, who was only 23 years old at the time. In a single day, he lost his entire family. However, after returning from captivity, he married again and, with his wife Savka, had four sons and two daughters.

Exactly 50 years passed, and the crime was repeated in the same place. The tragedy of this family began again on July 12, 1992, when Ljubomir was seriously wounded while working in the fields.

He was wounded by Muslim extremists from Srebrenica under the command of Naser Orić, who, 50 years later, on the major Orthodox holiday of Petrovdan /St. Peter Day/, launched a bloody campaign to finish what their ancestors had started.

LJUBOMIR ONCE AGAIN LOST HIS LOVED ONES IN 1992

The wounded Ljubomir was operated on in Belgrade, and while he was away from home receiving treatment, on August 8, 1992, Muslims from Srebrenica entered Ježestica and killed nine villagers, including his wife Savka and his son Dragan.

They beheaded his other son Anđelko and took his head to Orić in Srebrenica, where they tied it to a car and drove it through the streets, displaying it as a "Chetnik head", or a "war trophy".

The executioner received a reward from Orić, and after the bloody rampage, an enraged crowd kicked Anđelko's head around the Srebrenica playground, where they celebrated the massacre of civilians with singing and festivities. The whole of Srebrenica was celebrating and singing at the time. Anđelko's head was never found, and his decapitated body was buried.

According to witness statements, the person most responsible for this crime was Kemal Mehmedović Kemo, from the nearby village of Pale, who was known for numerous crimes against Serb civilians.

He beheaded the innocent Anđelko on his doorstep and took his head to Srebrenica as a trophy. Mehmedović tortured Nenad Rankić in Potočari and cut off parts of his body while he was being burned alive, as evidenced by a video recording. The perpetrator of this crime lives in the United States under a false name. US authorities have identified him, but he has not yet been convicted or deported to BiH.

LJUBOMIR DIED OF GRIEF

Ljubomir died in 1994 from the consequences of the wounds he suffered on Petrovdan, but also from immeasurable grief over the loss of his loved ones.

Ljubomir, his wife Savka, his son Dragan, and the decapitated body of his son Anđelko were buried at the Bratunac cemetery. Anđelko's wife Ivanka and daughter Anka are still searching for his head to this day.

The Mlađenović brothers were killed before the eyes of their mother Savka, who was forced by the perpetrators to watch these horrific scenes, after which she too was killed. Her remains were found in a nearby forest.

Ivanka Mlađenović previously told SRNA that she was outraged at the international community and the judiciary of BiH because no one has been prosecuted for the horrific killings of her family members and people from this village, who were working in their fields when they were brutally attacked by Muslim forces under the command of Orić.

"The names of those killed, engraved on the memorial, show that the truth is that they gave their lives for freedom, that they were victims, and that no one has been held accountable for the crime. We do not expect justice from the judiciary of BiH; it is a court that operates at the direction of the Bosniak political leadership, but we believe that the perpetrators will face, and are facing, God's justice," Mlađenović said.

Her daughter Anka was only five months old when Muslim soldiers slit her father's throat and killed her uncle in front of her grandmother, who was then also killed in the same manner.

Ivanka and Anka survived because they were not in the village on the day the crime was committed.

Anka grew up, graduated from university, and started a family.

Anka's cousin Nenad Mlađenović, whose father Dragan, uncle Anđelko and grandmother Savka were killed on August 8, 1992, told SRNA that he attends memorial services and commemorations for the victims every year.

He said that he was disappointed with the work of the judiciary of BiH, as well as with the Hague Tribunal.

"My brother and I need nothing, but we must not forget our own - our father, uncle, grandmother and the others who were innocently killed. We expect justice for the torture and brutal killings that took place on the doorsteps of our loved ones. They attacked no one, yet no one has been held accountable for their suffering," said the son of the murdered Dragan Mlađenović and Ljubomir's grandson.

The perpetrators of these crimes are today moving freely through these areas and defying others, showing that there is neither a court nor justice for their deeds.

No one has ever been held accountable, anywhere or at any time, for the atrocities in Ježestica, nor for the numerous other mass crimes committed against Serb civilians in the Middle Drina region.
