REMOVING OBSTACLES TO ECONOMIC GROWTH THROUGH MAJOR INVESTMENT CYCLE

BANJA LUKA, MAY 21 /SRNA/ - Republika Srpska Finance Minister Zora Vidović said that the line ministry and the Government of Republika Srpska continue to work on removing obstacles to economic growth, alongside a major investment cycle primarily covering the energy sector and road infrastructure.

At a meeting between Vidović and a delegation of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development /EBRD/ for BiH, led by Deputy Regional Director for Economic and Political Affairs Dimitar Bogov, it was stated that it is necessary to work on improving energy resilience.

It was also emphasized that investments in the energy sector, innovation and technological modernization are of key importance for stronger economic growth.

Discussions on the preparation of a new medium-term strategy implemented by the EBRD also focused on strengthening the role of the private sector, the Republika Srpska Ministry of Finance said in a statement.

Vidović and the EBRD delegation also discussed planned improvements in the areas of digitalization and reforms of the business environment.

Talks also covered current economic topics, with special emphasis on the implementation of Republika Srpska Government policies in the medium term and the creation of a more favorable business environment.
