JEZERO, DECEMBER 4 /SRNA/ – The municipality of Jezero will implement the project "Green Oasis Đol," an undertaking valued at BAM 44,000, that is expected to boost tourism development in the municipality and this part of Republika Srpska.
The project includes arranging the lakeshore and beach area using natural materials, installing eco-friendly outdoor showers and solar lighting, as well as setting up small solar chargers for mobile devices and electric bicycles.
The project also envisages arranging fishing piers, as well as installing diving platforms and sun loungers.
The Green Oasis will feature a children’s playground, a viewpoint, and a concert stage, along with informational boards in several languages.
Jezero is one of five local communities in Republika Srpska whose projects have been approved within the “Via Dinarica” program implemented by UNDP.
Mayor of Jezero Snežana Ružičić told SRNA that the municipality will provide BAM 26,400, along with covering supervision costs and direct project and administrative expenses estimated at BAM 3,184, while UNDP is expected to finance the remaining amount.
Ružičić emphasized that the municipality of Jezero continues to actively work on creating quality conditions for tourism development, with strong support from domestic and international partners.
"The project aims to increase tourism appeal, make better use of natural potential, and develop new spots for recreation and spending time in nature," Ružičić said.
Đol Lake is located in the Pliva River valley, directly along its right bank and below Mount Otomalj.
It consists of Veliki Đol and Mali Đol, which are about 300 meters apart. Both lakes lie at an elevation of 431 meters, the same altitude as the Pliva River along this stretch.
Đol Lake is situated near the regional road Šipovo–Jezero, eight kilometers from Šipovo and three kilometers from Jezero, in the village of Ljoljići.
